OUR HISTORY
For almost 40 years, Bater & Stout Opticians has been looking after the eyes of families in our local community.
Our story began in 1986, when Lindsay and Louise Bater founded Bater Opticians. From the very beginning, the practice was built around something wonderfully simple: looking after people properly, getting to know them and making them feel at home.
In 2013, Tony Stout became the owner and the practice became Bater & Stout Opticians. Then, in 2023, Charles and Sian Richards began the next chapter of our story.
Different owners, different generations, but the same belief at the heart of the practice: people come first.

We were more than satisfied with our visit. The expertise of all the staff was highly commendable.
Due to the thoroughness of the initial visit, issues with medication (seperate to eyes) were picked up and have made a big impact on me already. The children loved their first eye test and will no doubt be happy to come back.
