SPECTACLE LENSES
We provide a wide range of single vision, bifocal and varifocal lenses, alongside more specialised sports and occupational lenses and have a broad depth of experience in providing advice on the best lens for the best task. We work with a number of manufacturers and therefore if you have a lens that works and would rather stay with the same, or similar, we can often order it.
We also undertake special fittings for patients with unusual eye conditions, such as Keratoconus, and for cosmetic purposes. Please discuss your fitting requirements with one of our Dispensing team, who will be happy to advise.
LENS TYPES
We dispense a complete range of lenses, from the most advanced high definition digital lenses to the basics. Our manufacturer of preference is HOYA Lens who provide an extensive portfolio of lenses for all situations, including clear and tinted lenses, specialist sports and driving lens options.y

Non-Reflective
We recommend a non-reflective lens upgrade; lenses with enhanced (almost invisible) appearance, scratch resistance and the benefits of enhanced clarity and reduced dazzle from headlights and overhead lighting. Thinner lenses are almost always non-reflective as standard because of the increased reflections they create.
Photochromic
Known as “automatic sunglasses”, these lenses change colour automatically from almost clear indoors to a sunglass tint outdoors, as the light levels increase. These lenses are available for most prescriptions and offer excellent UV protection.
Polarised
These very special sun lenses give unparalleled protection from reflected glare (produced by snow, wet roads and the sea etc.). Polarised lenses offer the most comfortable vision in any glare conditions, plus outstanding UV protection.
Thinner Lenses
We can reduce the thickness, weight and bulbousness of your lenses by up to 65%! This is especially important for medium to high-powered spectacles, and greatly improves the appearance and lightness of the spectacles.
Single Vision
Corrects distance, reading or mid-distance (such as computer screens or music reading) visual problems.
Bifocals
Corrects any two combinations of vision by means of a separate, visible segment at the bottom of the lens.
Varifocals
The modern solution, combining all your visual needs without the need for a visible segment.
HOYA MIYOSMART LENS
We also offer the cutting edge HOYA MiyoSmart lens, the world’s first Myopia Management spectacle lens, which has just released a 6 year study paper on its effectiveness. For children at the beginning of their Myopia and even those further into the progression of their prescription, this lens has been shown to reduce future progression by up to 60% in most cases.

ON- SITE LABORATORY
We are one of the few Opticians locally to retain an on-site laboratory and we stock a large range of non-reflective lenses on the premises, allowing us to glaze a wide range of prescriptions extremely quickly. We can often provide a same-day or next day service, so if your need is urgent, enquire with us and we can check if this will be possible.
